Recall Campaign - SIUDI-5A

Problem with ISL8485EIPZ (INTERSIL) chip We recently found that the ISL8485EIPZ (INTERSIL) component may easily get damaged in stand alone mode when the interface is externally powered and cause the interface to not send DMX signal anymore.Concerned products:All SIUDI-5A interfaces (see S/N sticker) delivered from May 1st 2007 to October 24th 2007 using a DMX chip ref ISL8485EIPZ (INTERSIL)We advise to replace the ISL8485EIPZ by a MAX485CPA+ (MAXIM) or a SP485ECP (SIPEX). This component can be replaced in a few seconds as it is located on a socket (see the attached picture). Let us know how many chips you would like to receive and they will be sent immediately with an express carrier. If it would be easier for you to send the products back, please fill out and return the following document www.dmxsoft.com/global/ftp/rma.pdf to receive a product return authorization number. Please fax this document to: +33 467 603 152 (Europe)+1 407 846 7702 (America)+86 20 61101770 (Asia)We do apologies for this problem and want to ensure you that we will do our best to solve this problem in a short while.Note: There is no reason to worry if the interface is powered with the computer's USB port. This recall campaign is for externally powered interfaces only.
